Why I Hate Sports

I hate sports.

They’re stupid, they’re dumb.

How can we praise them?

What do they inspire?

Hate.

Who do they help?

Nobody.

Or perhaps there’s a something.

A something I can’t see.

Or perhaps I’m right.

Besides, what is there to love?

Is the roar of the crowd the only motive?

A lust for blood and sweat their only object?

Are those cheering fans an athlete’s only drive?

As you can clearly see

I fail to find a reason,

Just one,

To like these activities of dread.

And that is why, without doubt

I hate sports.

<:( Kristof, sports bring people together. They give people faith in humanity, seeing someone push themselves so hard to win. It's also a matter of pride. If one wins, the confidence in themselves goes way up. It's also a great way to get out tension, anger, stress, and energy. They prevent some people from getting to rowdy, and it keeps some people out of trouble. Sports are the string that holds society together

But what about those that lost by a nano-second? That makes them feel bad. And didn't you write an article denouncing pride? As to the matter of people not getting rowdy; I have two words for you - soccer riots.

My article was not denouncing pride, It was just saying don't take it to far. Second, Soccer riots DO happen, and people DO get hurt, but I was more leaning towards kids our age. A sport could keep them off drugs or commiting crimes, and give them something to do rather than illegal activities (No kristof, not everyone is into computers and video games like us). It gives people a common ground to bond on, and as for the losers, everone loses, and yes, it does hurt. But everone has a day.
